Tubesnake Is Dead. Long Live Tubesnake.
As the shiny New Year 2007 ‘broke on through’, our main-man guitarist Dave announced his decision to leave the band after more than 10 years doing the Tubesnake Boogie to concentrate on his already established other projects White Noise and Sabattica. He’s doing excellent in these bands so, ”Rock on!”. The three of us decided to look for two new guitarists and return to the 5-piece format we’d previously ran with 4 years earlier. Two guitarists, Tom and Steve, were recruited from a list of 15 applicants, 5 of which we auditioned. After a dozen or so spring-time rehearsals we had an excellent “First Night - Invite Only” gig at The Beamish Mary, Stanley on Saturday June 2nd 2007 where we played to a full house with a re-arranged set and 8 new songs. We now, once again, are going out as a 4-piece due to Steve succumbing to other commitments, therefore Tubesnake line-up number 9 (TS IX) swiftly became line-up number 10 (TS X) after just one gig. See “Tubesnake Army” on the Site Menu for some info on our current line-up. Our first gig in this guise will be at The Clarendon, Sunderland on Sunday September 30th 2007.
